“Ceci N’est Pas Ma Corps: This Is Not My Body” is a multidisciplinary exploration of the Black Femme image beyond AI and the colonial gaze. Through glitch, distortion, and spiritual authorship, this three gallery body of work refuses legibility and reclaims presence on its own terms.
Each piece is an assemblage interrogating systems that misrecognize, extract, and commodify the Black Femme image from camera lens and social media algorithms to plastic combs and historical archives. Working across video performance, animated film, assemblage sculpture, and digital rendering, Chambers fragments and reassembles the body as living testimony, not spectacle. This exhibition is not about being seen clearly— it is about being seen with care.
