Digitally Distorted Images of Handmade Mirrors

The Sacred and the Profane glass series is a collection of digitally distorted images of handmade mirrors, exploring the interplay between physical and virtual spaces. Each piece begins with broken glass, layered and kiln-fired, then chemically transformed into mirrors before being digitally distorted.
This series investigates how the reflection of a distorted mirror can be perceived when the mirror itself is not physically present. By removing the direct human interaction with the mirror, the work redefines the mirror as a symbol—one that reflects the complexities of image and selfhood. Through the titles and the visual distortions, I explore themes of perception, identity, and the tension between sacred and profane elements in the representation of self.
